Introducing Women into the Construction Industry

Code B.L.U.E.P.R.I.N.T is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering all women in Nevada, and Arizona by providing education, training, and certification in building inspections and code compliance. By offering a pathway into a lucrative and in-demand profession, we aim to break down barriers, reduce socio-economic challenges, and pave the way for a brighter future for the women in our community.

What We Try to Instill

Intellectual Integrity

Critical Thinking and Open-mindedness: Engaging in thoughtful analysis and considering multiple perspectives. Being open to new ideas and willing to challenge one's own belief

Lifelong Learning: Pursuing knowledge and self-improvement. Staying curious, seeking new experiences, and continuously growing intellectually.

Honoring Intellectual Property: Respecting the work and ideas of others. Avoiding plagiarism and giving credit where it's due.

The building inspection and code enforcement industry is facing a critical workforce decline—your support directly fuels its revival and reinvention.

Here’s the reality: the industry is aging, shrinking, and struggling to attract new talent. But with your help, we can turn that tide—and bring women and LGBTQ+ professionals into a field that desperately needs fresh leadership.

📉 The Crisis in Code Enforcement

  • Employment of building inspectors is projected to decline by 71% from 2024 to 2034, with a loss of approximately 11,200 jobs.

  • Despite this decline, 14,800 openings are expected annually, driven by retirements and workforce exits—not growth.

  • A recent workforce gap analysis revealed significant barriers to entry, including lack of outreach, limited diversity, and insufficient hands-on training.

  • The industry is overwhelmingly male and aging, with many jurisdictions reporting difficulty recruiting younger, more diverse professionals.

🔧 Why This Matters

Building inspectors and code enforcement officers are the unsung heroes of public safety. They ensure that homes, schools, and businesses meet structural, fire and life safety, and energy efficiency codes. Without them, communities face increased risks—from unsafe buildings to environmental hazards.

But the current pipeline is broken. If we don’t act now, we risk losing institutional knowledge, weakening enforcement standards, and compromising public safety.

💥 The Opportunity

Our program doesn’t just fill a gap—it redefines the future, by training women and LGBTQ+ individuals in building inspections and code compliance,

  • Revitalize a fading industry with fresh talent and inclusive leadership.

  • Increase representation in a field that has long excluded marginalized voices.

  • Ensure safer communities through rigorous, equity-driven enforcement.

  • Create economic mobility for participants through high-paying, respected careers.
